10,30 am - 6.30 pm
Blackledge Theatre, Godolphin School, Salisbury
Join Salisbury Chamber Chorus and musical director Simon McEnery for a workshop day on opera choruses.
Ever fancied singing your way through the Toreadors' Chorus from Carmen, or Verdi's Anvil Chorus or Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves? This is your chance to benefit from some technical tuition from singer/director Simon McEnery (Royal Opera/ENO/WNO) at the same time as singing some of the finest - as well as most entertaining - music in the repertoire alongside one of the region's most exciting choirs. You need to be able to read music at least a bit, and be enthusiastic. The Chamber Chorus's regular pianist Peter Toye will be playing.
The three session day begins at 11.00 am (registration at 10.30) and ends with an informal concert at 6.00 pm - all welcome - with a retiring collection for the National Autistic Society. Bring a packed lunch. Tea, coffee and cake included.
Please book your tickets - £22 - by voice type. Ticket price includes your music for the day.
