Our biggest ever round of auditions, this December

"Salisbury Chamber Chorus is unique among local choirs in that it caters to trained voices and singers who enjoy opportunities to sing more operatic repertoire, and this includes both solo and ensemble opportunities. Concerts vary from the standard (Verdi Requiem, Bach Magnificat) to the idiosyncratic (juxtaposing ABBA with Carmina Burana) via new works, and a core repertoire including concerts devoted solely to, for example, Wagner or - for the coming spring - Puccini."

We have announced auditions - the first in over four years. Here's the information for anyone interested:

Auditions for all voice types will be taking place in central Salisbury on Sunday 5, Wednesday 8, and Sunday 12 December. The Sunday auditions will be in the afternoon and early evening; the Wednesday session is in the evening.

Anyone who wants to come along will be required to sing one aria from a list of five, with a choice of either operatic or oratorio. There will also be a short section of music to prepare sent out a couple of days before the audition (instead of a sight-singing test).

To book an audition time, please contact the Chorus secretary, Fiona Jackson, stating any preference for time/date. We will then be in touch to confirm a time and place.
